Keynotes

Dr. Ing. Monika Thol (RUB)

Monika Thol studied Mechanical Engineering at Ruhr-University Bochum and obtained her doctorate (Dr.-Ing.) in the field of thermodynamics in 2015 ("Empirical multiparameter equations of state based on molecular simulation and hybrid data sets").
Between 2015 and 2019 Monika Thol has held a Post-Doctoral position and has been head of the working group "Accurate Modeling of Thermophysical Property Data" at the Chair of Thermodynamics at the Ruhr-University Bochum.
Since 2019 Monika Thol is part of the Academic Council and head of the working group "Accurate Modeling of Thermophysical Property Data" at the Chair of Thermodynamics at the Ruhr-University Bochum.

Dr.-Ing. Stefan Glos (SIEMENS ENERGY)

Stefan Glos (M) studied Mechanical Engineering at Ruhr-University Bochum and obtained his doctorate (Dr.-Ing.) in the field of experimental thermodynamics in 2004.
He has held various positions in Research & Development and Customer Order Engineering at Siemens-Energy in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany.
During this time, he gained extensive experience in the thermal design of turbines for different working media, including steam, CO2, and air.
Since 2015, Stefan has been responsible for the development of innovative product and system concepts within the Steam Turbines business area of Siemens Energy. He is currently leading various innovation projects. His skills include thermal design of turbines, innovative product and system concepts, and project leadership.

Dr.-Ing. Pietro Congedo (INRIA)

Pietro Marco Congedo is Inria Research Director at the Center for Applied Mathematics from Ecole Polytechnique, Team leader of the Inria team-project PLATON (joint with Ecole Polytechnique and CNRS), and Scientific Director of the Joint CWI-Inria International Lab.
He graduated with honors in Materials Engineering at the University of Lecce (Italy). After his Master in Fluid Mechanics at Arts et Métiers (Paris, France), he received his Ph.D. in Energy Systems at University of Lecce in 2007.
He has long experience in uncertainty quantification and robust optimization methods for scientific computing with applications in aeronautics, hypersonics, and real-gas flows. He has been involved in several H2020 and CleanSky projects, as well as large industrial projects.
